Cynogenmod 7 RC1 for Galaxy Ace (GT-S5830 a.k.a Cooper) Review

এন্ড্রয়েড জগতে কাস্টম রমের মধ্যে সবচেয়ে বেশী আলোচিত নামটি হচ্ছে Cynogenmod7 বা সংক্ষেপে CM7. এই রমে রয়েছে অসংখ্য ফীচার এবং কাস্টমাইজেশন ফীচার যা দিয়ে আপনি আপনার ইচ্ছেমত কাস্টমাইজ করে নিতে পারবেন আপনার ফোন কে। তবে চাইলেই আপনি আপনার ফোনে এই রম ইন্সটল করতে পারছেন না, ঐ নির্দিষ্ট ফোনের জন্য CM7 এর পোর্ট থাকতে হবে। অন্যথায় এটি কাজ করবে না।

 

বর্তমানে মিড রেঞ্জ ফোনগুলোর মধ্যে বহুল আলোচিত এবং প্রচুর জনপ্রিয় একটি ফোন হচ্ছে গ্যালাক্সী এইস (Galaxy Ace, GT-S5830, a.k.a Cooper), গ্যালাক্সী এস বা এস২ এর জন্য CM7 সাপোর্ট থাকলেও “গ্যালাক্সী এস মিনি” হিসেবে পরিচিত এইস জন্য এতদিন CM7 সাপোর্ট ছিল না। আশার কথা,  ব্যবহারকারীদের চাহিদার ভিত্তিতে সম্প্রতি রিলিজ পেয়েছে Galaxy Ace এর জন্য CM7 এর রিলিজ ক্যান্ডিডেট ভার্সন। কিছুটা বাগ রয়েছে অবশ্য, কিন্তু CM7 ফোনে থাকা মানে অন্যরকম একটা আমেজ।  ফাইনাল ভার্সনে এর বেশীরভাগই  ফিক্স করা হয়ে যাবে আশা করা যাচ্ছে।

চলুন দেখে নেই এক নজরে CynogenMod 7 RC1 for Galaxy Ace (GT-S5830)ঃ

১) গ্যালাক্সী এইস এর জন্য সর্বশেষ স্টক রম আপডেট হচ্ছে, ২.৩.৪ কিন্তু CynogenMod7 এ ব্যাবহার করা হয়েছে ২.৩.৫ ভার্সন, যেখানে কিনা স্যামসাং এখনও অফিশিয়ালি এস২ তে ২.৩.৫ আপডেট দেয়া নিয়ে চিন্তাভাবনা করছে। স্বভাবতই স্টক রম আপডেট গুলো দেরীতেই আসে। এদিক থেকে CM7 প্রায়োরিটির দিক থেকে বেশ এগিয়ে গেল।

২) রম আপগ্রেডের জন্য CWM Manager ব্যাবহার করলেই চলে, আপগ্রেড প্রসেস সব মিলিয়ে  ৩/৪ মিনিটের মধ্যে হয়ে যায়।

৩) UI ম্যানেজমেন্টের জন্য ব্যাবহৃত হয়েছে, Adblw UI. ইচ্ছেমত কাস্টমাইজ করতে পারবেন।

৪) রমের সাইজ মাত্র ৯৫ মেগা, কিন্তু যথেষ্ঠই ফীচার রয়েছে সে তুলনায়।

৫) কিছু গুগোল এ্যাপ বাদ দেয়া হয়েছে, যোগ করা হয়েছে Car Mode।

৬) কাস্টমাইজেশন হিসেবে CRT Animation Effect, OverGlow+Bounce Effect ইত্যাদি রয়েছে, ইনফ্যাক্ট, CM7 এ কাস্টমাইজেশনের অভাব নেই। কোনটা রেখে কোনটা বলি!

৭) ক্যামেরা ইউআই পরিবর্তিত হয়েছে, প্রায় আই্ফোনের ইউআই ই বলা যায়, পছন্দ হয় নি ব্যাপারটা, তবে ইন্টারফেসটা সুন্দর এটা মানতে হবে। তবে কিছু জিনিস মিসিং,  আপনি রেজ্যুলেশন পরিবর্তন করার অপশন পাবেন না, সিন মোড চেঞ্জ করার অপশনও নেই।

 

৮) কীবোর্ড হিসেবে ব্যাবহার করা হয়েছে জিঞ্জারব্রেড বিল্টইন কীবোর্ড, সোয়াইপ কীবোর্ড আলাদা করে ইন্টস্টল করতে পারবেন।

৯) গ্যালাক্সী এইস ফোনের একটা লিমিটেশন (অন্তত আমার যেটা মনে হয়েছিল) হচ্ছে এর স্টক রিংটোন/নোটিফিকেশন এর সীমাবদ্ধতা। হাতে গোনা অল্প কয়েকটি ভাল টিউন ছিল, CM7 এ মূল টিউনগুলোর পাশাপাশি যোগ করা হয়েছে অসংখ্য চমৎকার টিউন। আমার পছন্দ হয়েছে (এতটাই হয়েছে যে আমি স্টক রমেও সেগুলো কপি করে বসিয়ে দিয়েছি)

১০)  ডিসপ্লে রোটেশন এখন কেবল ৪ দিকেই করা যায়, স্টক রমে ৩দিকে করা যেত।

১১)  প্রথম ভার্সনে ওয়াইফাই ও ক্যামেরা নিয়ে ঝামেলা ছিল কিঞ্চিৎ, আপডেটে সেগুলো ফিক্স করা হয়েছে।

 

১২) গুগোল এ্যাপস এর একদম আপডেটেড ভার্সনগুলো দেয়া আছে।

 

১৩) বাংলা রেন্ডারিং সমস্যা। এটাই সম্ভবত সবথেকে বড় বাগ এখন পর্যন্ত এই রমে। তবে আশা করা যায় এটা ঠিক হয়ে যাবে দ্রুত।

 

১৪) পারফর্মেন্স আপডেট হয়েছে, তবে রম কতটুকু ব্যাবহার হচ্ছে দেখার জন্য গতানুগতিক টাস্ক ম্যানেজার নেই। অন্য এ্যাপস দিয়ে কাজটা করতে পারবেন।

১৫) এ্যাপ ইনস্টলের জন্য এক্সটার্নাল মেমোরীকে সিলেক্ট করে দেয়া সম্ভব এখন।

১৬) কিছু এ্যাপ ক্রাশ করে, যেমন বিল্টইন দেয়া টর্চ এ্যাপ ক্রাশ করছে দেখলাম।

১৭) অডিও ম্যানেজমেন্টের জন্য DSP Manager ব্যাবহার করা হয়েছে। এটা দিয়ে আপনি ফোন, হেডফোন এবং ব্লুটুথ হেডফোন এর জন্য আলাদা ভাবে অডিও সেটিংস কনফিগার করতে পারবেন।

১৮)প্রোফাইল অপশন যোগ করা হয়েছে, আপনি সময় উপযোগী প্রোফাইল সিলেক্ট করতে পারবেন। (Meeting, Home, Silent, etc)

১৯) পাওয়ার মেনুতে রিস্টার্ট বাটন যোগ করা হয়েছে এখান থেকে আপনি সরাসরি রিকভারী মোডে যাওয়ার জন্য সিলেক্ট করে দিতে পারবেন।

২০) স্ক্রীণশট নেয়ার জন্য পাওয়ার বাটন কনটেক্সটে অপশন যোগ করা হয়েছে।

২১) বেশ সুন্দর কিছু  লাইভ ওয়ালপেপার এবং CM7 ওয়ালপেপার রয়েছে।

২২) এ্যাপ ড্রয়ারে ব্যাকগ্রাউন্ড হিসেবে ইমেজ ব্যাবহারের সুবিধা।

 

 

 

 

এসব ছাড়াও আরো অসংখ্য কাস্টমাইজেশন ফীচার রয়েছে যা বলে শেষ করা সম্ভব নয়, এই রম ইনস্টল করতে চাইলে দেখতে পারেন XDA Forum এর এই লিংক টি।

Android ROM Upgrade Process Via Odin : Samsung Galaxy Ace (Cooper) GT-S5830

No wonder, Android is a big craze nowadays & obviously, people always wants to stay updated with them. I bought Samsung Galaxy Ace a month ago & it came 2.3.3 Built-in. I was pretty happy with the config I found.  But android is just not about the stock rom & you might wanna try other ROMs as well. However I didn’t have a plan to try other ROMs though, I had to do this. Human Nature, you know! Explore!!!

 

What happened is, I tried a Custom 2.3.3 ROM on my phone with CWM. & didn’t really liked that. So I decided to come back to Original ROM. But failed several times due to an unknown problem. My phone wasn’t booting up except only showing the boot screen. I got frustrated really & realized that the Stock ROM is gone forever. I turned my on with that fla.sh x^2 ROM & suddenly came up with a idea to upgrade the rom to 2.3.4 Update. I wasn’t sure if it’s possible anymore for my phone though. But when you’ve nothing to loose, who dares to try ? I said “Hi’ to my luck & tried the ROM & Voila! My phone started to breathe in the new 2.3.4 Firmware.  Lets see, what I’ve done here…..

 

Requirements:

1) You gotta have an account on SAMFIRMWARE. I bet you already have one.

2) USB Drivers to Detect Your Phone while it’s in “Download” mode & you can leave that to Windows Update (it will automatically download &  install the drivers)  Else, Drivers are available at SAMFIRMWARE.

3. The New ROM you’re going to install. Go to Samfirmware & find the best one for you. If you’re from Bangladesh, I recommend to choose any latest Update from Asian Region. I chose 2.3.4 Asian Stock Firmware.

4. and mighty Odin! well, you’ll find the appropriate version of Odin for your phone at Samfirmware.

Oh yeah, I forget one thing. 5) the OPS file of your Phone. You know where to find it, right ? Samfi………..

 

Now Lets see the process:

1) Create a Backup of your current ROM first. You may like to use CWM for that.

2) Use Titanium Backup to backup data+apk of your current applications.

3) Now Turn Of your phone & Reboot into Download Mode by pressing & holding down “Volume Down+Home+Power Key”

4) Once it’s showing “Downloading” connect the usb cord.  You’ll see windows update will check & install driver for you. If because of something you don’t wanna do that. Install the drivers you downloaded from Samfirmware.

5) Once you see the driver install confirmation, Unplug the USB.

6) Run ODIN.  Select the OPS file first. Now………….hey wait!!!! the file you downloaded from Samfirmware, mostly likely is a single Tar file ( Extract the zip file & you’ll get that). So obviously, you can’t get individual PDA, Phone, CSC, BOOT file for your phone. So ????????

7) Look at the Middle Left of Odin. 4 options are there. Check “One Package” from there & Now skip PDA, Phone, CSC, BOOT  options & directly go to One Package option. Browse for the Tar file & select it.

8) Connect The phone now in Download Mode. You’ll see the connection info in the upper side of Odin.

9) Hold your breather, Say Bismillah & Click on “Start”, Follow the message in down-left box.

10)  Now this will take while & don’t worry. When it says “Close Serial Port & Wait Untill Reboot” Unplug the USB. You’re phone mostly likely to reboot into new ROM now. You’re done there. Explore it!

11) In some cases, (like mine) I got a continuous restart problem. Therefore, Simplay shutdown & reboot into Recovery Mode. Wipe Cache partion & Clear personal Data/Factory Reset. Restart Again. Done!

 

Remember:

a) You’ve just install a fresh ROM. therefore it’s no more rooted. You’ve to root it first if you need Rooted apps.

b) Your recovery console will be reset to Samsungs’ default “3e”. Install a fresh copy of which one you were used to use earlier.

In The Ocean Of Music with Altec Lancing VS4121BLK.

When I Bought My PC in 2006,  I Had A Normal Speaker From Creative, Model, SBS-240. Was Good Enough, But one day one of  my cousin requested them in exchange with his Mercury 2:1 speaker. I Agreed, But Wasn’t Too lucky to have them for a long. It got damaged while shifting my home. Since then i was trying to buy a good speaker.

Finally the chance came,  I had 3000 BDT in my savings & Mom gave me rest for buying  the speaker I was dreaming of. I bought Altec Lancing VS4121BLK next day, it was a big packet & it was too hot outside. But after I returned home, when i plugged that monster & played Numb (LP), Oh My God! I forgot all my tiredness. Sounds silly but the truth is my mom got pretty scared at first as she thought there is another earthquake. Well, it was nothing but simply the vibration from the bigger part of speaker, A 6″ Front Firing Long Throw Bass System.

Well, here is a short config of the system I’ve:

1. a 6″ Front Firing Long Throw Woofer System.

2. Two Satellite has got 2 twitter with one 3″ mid range driver in each.

3. Right Satellite has got the master power switch, Volume, Bass & Treble Nob, which means, without this satellite the whole system is a junk.

4. Peak capability of the system is 62 Watt, Normally 32 Watt. A Woofer requires 19Watt only ( i guess a big disappointing factor here)

5. This is actually a gaming speaker, though it can play all sorts of music pretty well, yeah it knows where to throw bass.

6. From a 2:1 System, you may not expect a 3D experience without it, really!

Well, that’s just a speaker & I don’t think there’s a lot to write about it. Simply……

ল্যাপটপ জিনিসটা আসলেই অ’সাম!! ছোট্ট খাট্ট একটা জিনিস, তার ভিতরে সবকিছু। ডেক্সটপ বনাম ল্যাপটপ চিন্তা করুন তো দেখি ?

বাপরে কি জিনিস গো !!!

যাক মূল কথায় আসি, ল্যাপটপ ছোট্ট খাট্ট জিনিস, আর ছোট্টখাট্ট বলেই কমপ্লেক্সিটি বেশী। আর এর যে অংশটি নিয়ে সবার চিন্তা সবথেকে বেশী, সেটা হচ্ছে এর ব্যাটারী। কোন ব্যাটারী কতক্ষন ব্যাকআপ দেয়, তার উপরেই ল্যাপটপের অনেককিছু।

কমপ্লেইন কিন্তু কম না !!! “আমার ব্যাটারী ১ বছর পরেই আর চার্জ থাকে না, ভাল না, ব্যাকআপ বেশী থাকে না….. হেন তেন এই সেই…….. উফফফফ….. জীবন বরবাদ প্রায়।

আসেন এইটা নিয়াই অল্প সল্প গল্প হয়ে যাক।

বাড়িয়ে নিন ফায়ারফক্সের ভিউইং এরিয়া আর সাথে একটু বাড়তি বোনাস!

আমি ব্যাক্তিগত ভাবে ফায়ারফক্স ভক্ত। তবে ক্রোম ও আজকাল কম যায় না। ক্রোম এর একটা বড় সুবিধা এর ভিউ্‌ইং সুবিধা বেশি। ফায়ারফক্সে মেনুবার, টুলবার এবং বুকমার্কস টুলবার এর কারনে বেশ খানিকটা জায়গা নষ্ট হয়। আবার বুকমার্কগুলোতে দ্রুত ঢুকতে চাওয়াটাও দরকার। আসুন দেখি যদি কিছু একটা করা যায় যাতে করে ফায়ারফক্সের খানিকটা ভিউইং স্পেস বাড়ানো যায় আবার বুকমার্ক গুলোতে ঢুকাও যায় দ্রুত।

প্রথমে যে বুকমার্কগুলো আপনার প্রায়ই দরকার হয়, সেগুলোকে বুকমার্ক করুন কিংবা ট্রান্সফার করুন, বুকমার্কস টুলবার এ। সাধারনত কোন পেজ কে বুকমার্ক করতে চাইলে ওই পেজ এর ট্যাব কে ড্র্যাগ করে বুকমার্ক টুলবার এ ছেড়ে দিলেই বুকমার্ক হয়ে যাবে ওখানে। যদি আগে থেকেই করা থাকে বুকমার্ক সেক্ষেত্রে বুকমার্ক ম্যানেজার থেকেও ড্র্যাগ এন্ড ড্রপ করে বুকমার্ক থেকে বুকমার্ক টুলবার এ বুকমার্ক নিয়ে আসতে পারেন।

যেমন ধরা যাক আমার ফায়ারফক্স উইন্ডো।

এবার মেনুবার এর খালি অংশে রাইট ক্লিক করুন। ওখান থেকে Customize এ ক্লিক করুন।

নীচের মত কাষ্টমাইজ টুলবার বক্স দেখা যাবে। খেয়াল করুন, বুকমার্ক টুলবার এর জায়গায় এখন বুকমার্কগুলো দেখাচ্ছে না, যেটা দেখাচ্ছে সেটা হচ্ছে “Bookmark Toolbar Items”

এবার যে কাজটি করতে হবে সেটা হচ্ছে এই “Bookmark Toolbar Items” কে ড্র্যাগ করে মেনুবারের পাশে ফ্রী স্পেস এ ড্রপ করা। ড্র্যাগ এন্ড ড্রপ মিশন শেষ করে ফেলুন। এবার “কাষ্টমাইজ টুলবার” থেকে Done এ ক্লিক করে বন্ধ করে দিন (চাইলে উপরে ডানদিকের ক্লোজ আইকনে ক্লিক করেও বের হয়ে আসতে পারেন, আপনার মর্জি )

দেখুন, বুকমার্ক টুলবার চলে গেছে মেনুবারে। মেনুবারের পাশে এখন বুকমার্ক গুলো দেখা যাচ্ছে। কিন্তু যেখানে বুকমার্ক টুলবার ছিল সেই জায়গাটা খালি দেখা যাচ্ছে।

এবার এই খালি জায়গাতে রাইট ক্লিক করুন। আগের মতই ড্রপডাউন বক্স আসবে। এবার দেখুন ওখানে Navigation Toolbar এবং Bookmark Toolbar দুটোতেই টিকমার্ক করা আছে। সযত্নে Bookmark Toolbar টি আনমার্ক করে দিন।

আপনার ফায়ারফক্স দেখাবে এখন এমনঃ

ব্যাস!!! আপনার খানিকটা ভিউইং জায়গা বেড়ে গেল একই সাথে আপনার প্রয়োজনীয় বুকমার্কগুলোতে এবার থেকে ঢুকতে পারবেন শুধু এক ক্লিকেই। কোনটা আপনার জন্য বেশি উপকারী হবে জানিনা, আমার জন্য দুটোই বেশ উপকারী।

এছাড়াও, F11 চেপে ফুলস্ক্রীণ মোডে চলে যেতে পারেন। তবে সেক্ষেত্রে আপনার কিছুটা সমস্যা হতে পারে। যেহেতু পুরো স্ক্রীণ জুড়ে ফায়ারফক্সের পেজটা দেখবেন কাজেই অন্য এপ্লিকেশন এ যেতে হলে আবার আপনাকে ফুলস্ক্রীন মোড থেকে বের হয়ে আসতে হবে। তাছাড়া ফুলস্ক্রীণ মোডে আপনি বুকমার্ক এবং মেনুবার এও যেতে পারবেন না।

For long my PC is ON, few things must be running there such as. firefox with 5/6 tabs, Windows Live Mail, Messengers ( Live, Y!, Gtalk, Skype) & Music ofcourse, Yes, I love music a lot, I can go China to get a song if I’ve liked  it.  Luckily I got internet & a lot friends with good music test. Few days back one of my friend came to my house. He got a mp3 player & requested me for some music, by that time I made a backup of his player. Later when I was checking out his collection I found few of them are really Great!.  These are released years ago, but somehow I’ve missed them.. well, here is a very short review of them…

Windows 7 Ultimate :: Next Is What…

Everyone knows that Microsoft is going to release their latest operating system, Windows 7 on October 22th for the general. Earlier  Microsoft has offered its’ Beta & RC version to use for free for a certain time. I tried the beta but it wasn’t so special. Recently I’ve downloaded Windows 7 build7600 which supposed to be released as Final from Microsoft. I downloaded the .iso, extracted it & made a bootable pendrive to install Windows 7. It took around 25 min to finalize the setup. Soon I’ve installed 7 on my secondary hard disk, I had a look around the OS. Below there is a short review of it:

Things that I liked in Seven”:

1. New Taskbar: The new taskbar is really nice. it’s more transparent & has a glass effect which is better than the taskbar in Vista.

2. Processing Speed: The performance of windows 7 is much better than Vista. It seems too speedy even on 1GB RAM where Vista was kinda slow.

3. Improved Graphics Performance: In Vista I found a dramatic upgrade of video playback. the movie quality is so improved, but while playing games ( I tried NFS Undercover) it was a bit choppy. Windows 7 has overcome this problem. It has more stunning video playback feature with dolby digital feature. & I found the game is running smoothly here.

Things I Disliked:

1. WMP dock in taskbar option is disappeared: Windows Media Player is my favourite since it’s version 11 was released. I liked the WMP12 too. But the most irritating thing is that, the “dock in taskbar” option isn’t available. so everytime I play a new song, the WMP window pops up, also in new thumbnail preview mode, you can’t change volume or open a stable mini window mode.  It really disappointed me. Now I’m using iTunes as alternative for music playback.

2. Boot & Shut Down Time: From other 7 users & as said by Microsoft, the boot time and the shutdown time should be faster. But in my pc Windows boots faster but sometimes it takes even more than 1 min to shut down. So irritating.

Other Changes In Windows 7:

Windows Dreamscene is not available in build 7600 version. But there is a option available now where you can select multiple wallpaper which will be changed randomly after a certain time.

Windows 3d flip, ( I liked this feature actually in Vista) is also unavailable in 7 Also I didn’t find any desktop icon to switch between programs or windows. So you have to use keyboard shortcut Alt+TAB to switch.

My PC

2006, I got a PC as a gift from my dad as gift for getting an important scholarship back in Class VIII. I was too excited. I’ve got my dream machine.

It was somehow like this:

Pentium-IV 2.66Ghz Non HT

RAM: 256MB DDR-2 RAM 533Bus.

Gigabyte 8I915GV-MD Mainboard.

Samsung SpinPoint SP0802N Hard Disk.

Samsung Syncmaster 591s Black.

Total System cost me 29000BDT.

This PC was just awesome . Though I was missing more RAM. After 2 year I bought 1gb DDR2 667 bus for my system. I was just quite happy with this system. Even Vista ran so smooth on it though it wasn’t capable to run Aero Effect. & Don’t know why, this system ran better in Vista than XP

Recently 2 months ago, this system was highly damaged due to spontaneous load shedding, it’s main board was out of order. Problem was that my processor was kinda old, new main board wouldn’t match this processor. So for new system I also got to think about a new processor. I talked with Dad & finally bought Core 2 Duo E7400 processor with Intel DG41RQ Desktop Board.

Wow!!! It’s so gr8. New mainboard supports upto 2GB graphics memory with a 533 / 800 Mhz Engine Clock. I can play almost every game, released within 2009 & smoothly too. I always miss a graphics card, This onboard x4500 gfx card has lessen the need a bit. :-bd

First but not first at all. (শুরু হইয়াও হইলোনা শুরু)

It was November, 2008, one of my best  friends, Mahdee suddenly asked me, “Why don’t you start blogging ?”  To be honest, till that time I was thinking that blogging is for famous persons like Steve Jobs or Omi Azad. I thought he was kidding & I laughed. He became serious & tried to make me understand about it. Well, I got interested & for the first time I opened a blog in blogger using my gmail account. I posted just one Topic there where I wrote “This is my first post here, I’m not sure whether I’m gonna continue or not.” That was the last post too on that blog.” & Really I got busy with my studies & forgot about this blog.

Last night one of my little bro, Junayeed Ahnaf Nirjhor asked me once again about blogging. This time I got too interested as I got a lot to write. As a result, After almost 1 year I’ve created this  BLOG  last night. Thanks To Mahdee, Tareq Vai & Junayeed Ahaaf. Specially to Mahdee for whom I started blogging at least. I’ve dedicated my blog on his name.
